அலங்கரித்தார் நகரைச் சேரமான் பெருமாள் நாயனார்
அன்பர் சுந்தரரின் அரிய வருகையை அறிந்து கொண்டு.

அறிவித்தார் வருகையை பறையறைந்து நாடெல்லாம்!
அடைந்தார் நகர எல்லையைத் தன் பரிவாரங்களுடன்;

ஆனையிலிருந்து இறங்கினார் சுந்தரரைக் கண்டவுடன்;
ஆரத் தழுவிக்கொண்டார் சுந்தரை அன்பில் மிகுதியால்.

அமர்த்தினார் சுந்தரரைத் தன் பட்டத்து யானையின் மீது;
அன்புடன் ஏந்தினார் அழகிய வெண்கொற்றக் குடையை.

அமரச் செய்தார் தன் அரியணையில் சுந்தரரை – தானே
அன்புடன் செய்தார் அனைத்து வித உபசாரங்களையும்.

கண்டு களித்தனர் இருவரும் சென்று சிவத்தலங்களை;
தொண்டு புரிந்தனர் தூய தமிழ்ப் பதிகங்கள் பல பாடி;

நீராடுவர் இருவரும் அழகிய பொய்கை ஒன்றில் – பின்
நிர்மலமாகச் சென்று தொழுவர் ஈசனை ஆலயத்தில்.

சுந்தரர் சென்று விட்டார் முந்திக் கொண்டு ஆலயம்
சேரமான் பெருமாள் நீராடிக் கொண்டிருக்கையில்.

பொங்கியது அரன் அருள்; பெருகியது கண்ணீர் ;
பொங்கியது பேரொளி; சிவப்பழமாக ஆகிவிட்டார்;

பாடினார் “தலைக்குத் தலை மாலை” என்ற பதிகம்;
ஆடல் அரசன் விரும்பினான் அவரை ஆட்கொள்ள;

ஆணையிட்டான் அமரர்களிடம் ஆடல் அரசன் அரன்;
“அழைத்து வருவீர் சுந்தரரை வெள்ளை யானைமீது”

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

#6w. ChEramAn PerumAL nAynaAR

Sundarar wished to meet ChEramAn PerumAL nAyanAr and took leave of Paravai. The King announced the about the visit of Sundara moorthy to his citizens. They decorated the whole city beautifully in order to extend a warm welcome to Sundarar.

The King ChEramAn PerumAL nAyanAr reached the outskirts of his city with his retinue in full attendance. When Sundarar arrived, the King got down from his royal elephant. He embraced Sundarar and made him sit on his royal elephant. He himself held the royal white silk umbrella over Sundarar’s head.

Having reached his palace, the King made Sundarar sit on his throne and did all the ubachArams to show his deep respect and love. Then these two nAyanmArs visited many holy temples of Siva together and praised Him in their songs.

They both would take a holy dip in one of the ponds. Then they both would visit the temple and sing the praise of Lord Siva. But one fine day Sundarar went to the temple ahead of the king.

He was deeply moved and shed copious tears due to his intense devotion. He became very brilliant and emotional as he sang the padhigam “thalaikkuth thalai mAlai”.

Siva decided to call him back to Kailash and ordered to the Devas,
” Make Sundarar sit on the celestial white elephant and bring him here.”
